I have been on a Montessori 3-Part cards kick lately. We managed to snag a set of the Safari Toob Famous Architecture set and so I decided to make some 3-part cards to go along with them. I am also including the Famous Architecture Around the World 3-Part Cards Printable in this post, so keep scrolling to get your copy.

Items Needed for Architecture 3-Part Cards

  • The printable download below
  • Safari Toob Famous Architecture Set
  • Card Stock
  • Laminator and laminator sheets
  • Scissors

Print out your cards on card stock and then laminate. I cut mine out after laminating so save on cutting time, but if you want to cut the pictures and labels out first, then laminate and cut them out again with a larger edge that works too.

I have included a set of the Safari Toob pictures, one with the label directly below and one with the labels separate. I have also included pictures of the real live places with labels below for older children to associate with. Even my 3 year old likes looking at the pictures though.

How To Use the 3-Part Cards

Depending on how old your child is, you can use the cards in a variety of ways. 3-part cards are meant to develop and enhance vocabulary, enrich language and are the building blocks to classification, reading, writing, culture, geography, and art.

For ages 2-3 you will want to use the picture cards (without labels) simply as a way to show your child the picture and ask them to repeat the name of that particular object to you.

For ages 3-4 you can begin to ask the child to show you an object that start with a certain word sound, such as “I see an object that starts with “luh”, can you show me an object that start with “luh?” This is also used with the cards without labels.

For ages 4-5 you can use the cards with and without the labels and use it as a reading lesson, asking the child to read the labels and match them to the correct picture. The picture with the labels is used as their control set to check their work.

For ages 5-6 you can use them as a writing lesson and ask the child to then copy the words that they just matched. They can be used for reading, spelling, and writing.
