This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro Gro-ables. All opinions are 100% mine.

Perhaps you are like me: every year I say I am going to start a garden and then that year comes and goes and guess what? No garden. Both of my children are summer babies, so two of those years I was 30+ weeks pregnant and then newborns. So getting out to plant a garden has always been a challenge.

That is why I am so excited to be partnering with the Miracle-Gro Gro-ables Project for our gardening this year. They have made it super easy to garden with kids for busy moms, like me!

The Miracle-Gro Gro-ables make it so easy to plant some fresh herbs and vegetables with my 3 year old. She loves learning about seeds and plants and has helped grandma plant things before. So I was excited to get to do it with her this year.

We decided to use pots for our Gro-ables seed pods since we have 3 large dogs and I didn't want them digging things up (which they still managed to do and I had to replant again!). Now all of our pots are on the front porch for safe keeping.

Ellie enjoyed putting the dirt into our pots and making sure it was smoothed out for the Gro-ables seed pods. We received 18 different ones and decided to plant some basil, spinach, and zucchini.

After putting our dirt in the pots and choosing our seeds, Ellie peeled the lids off of the Gro-ables seed pods and pushed them into the dirt. You just need to make sure they stay level with the dirt. No need to push them under the dirt, or cover them with dirt at all. There are also directions on the inside of each label and each one also gives germination and harvesting information for that type of seed.

Once they were all planted, Ellie watered them with our garden hose. You need to make sure they stay moist every day, so this would be an excellent project for your littles ones to keep track of. You could make a chart with the types of seeds you planting and mark off each day the seeds are watered. Each seed pod also tells you how long before they should start growing so you can keep track of this as well. Not only does it teach them responsibility, they also learn about where their food comes from and what goes into growing it for themselves.

As a busy mom, I loved how easy it was to get started with the Miracle-Gro Gro-ables. It really could not be easier with these seed pods. All of the plant food is included inside the pods, so no need to worry about feeding the plants other than watering.

The Mission of Miracle-Gro #GroablesProject

I am always looking for hands-on activities to do with my kids, so I love that Miracle-Gro started their Gro-ables Project to help share the joy of growing herbs and veggies with children and encourage hands-on learning experiences. Gardening and planting is truly the best sensory play experience a child can have and I love that a company like Miracle-Gro realizes this and wants to encourage all children to enjoy this fun part of spring.

Are you planting a garden this year? I'd love to hear about what you chose to plant and how you are involving your kids. Let me know in the comments below.
